Is the word “addiction” intrinsically negative?

The founder of the Webby Awards, Tiffany Shlain, waxes reflective on human beings being massively connected and stuff. In a movie. That she made. Will assuredly be interesting, but I’m not quite sure about it… I get this feeling that she’s having kind of a Bill Joy knee-jerk reaction to the technology she’s not quite able to keep up with any longer – that sort of, middle-aged-onward conservatism that sets in… But what the hell do I know – it’s just a trailer at the moment.

Aaron Saenz over at Singularity Hub has a few paragraphs of somewhat similar sentiment, so I’ll just send you over to his site – have a read, and see the film!
