Thanks - I appreciate the feedback. While I'm quite happy to indulge myself in an empty theater, it's nice to know there are a few people in the house!

I was thinking about this just yesterday. There is some philosophical story about a Boat that gets different parts replaced over time until eventually it has more new parts than original parts and on until it has none of its original parts. Is it still the same boat?

The difference with a person is perhaps the ships captain... or the person's personhood... it's fun to imagine tricking the body one piece at a time until you replaced all the parts and then what would you have to keep? Maybe you only really need your original brain and spine? anyhow, fun read.

I've had a Google news alert set up for "biohacking" for the past couple years. I've got a feeling this will make it's way to the garages soon enough. :)

Forced sterilization is barbaric? I think having kids that end up starving to death because you can't feed them is barbaric! But let's not just focus on the breeders and supplying them with affordable reliable safe contraceptives. We need to go after the barbarians who still believe that birth control is wrong, that every baby is a gift from God. They are found not among the poor and ignorant, but are often powerful figures. Mother Theresa was among this group. They claim to be helping the poor, but they are in fact creating the poor! Let's stop them!

You say condom's aren't the thing but don't give an alternative.
I also think you're flat out wrong that these people, or at least these women don't want birth control. They just need access to appropriate methods (or a serious cultural shift in the view of condom's, has the added benefit of protecting against AIDS)
Men: three options
1. condom's = funny balloons
2. vasectomy = expensive medical procedure
3. pill = working on it but as far as I know not yet available

Women: three options
1. condom's = funny balloons
2. tubal ligation = expensive medical procedure
3. exogenous hormones = relatively expensive and not always well tolerated (I speak from experience)

I'm holding out for the sperm vaccine. Hallelujah!

Hey Jon! Yeah, collecting ambient electricity is as old as Tesla, I think the fluidic component of this technology is the novel concept. Piezoelectric energy collection from various movements has also been proposed and implemented over the years, but output and collection has been difficult...

And I need one of those watches.
